Hello, currently I'm running FF3 RC1 and whenever I go on a youtube video it takes minutes before it actually starts playing. I've checked my connection and it's okay so I don't know what the issue is. I've also deleted and reinstalled the latest adobe flash player. I should mention that I'm running Windows XP SP3 and the FF3 is the portable app edition. Anyone out there with the same config as me having the same issues? All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Firefox 3 RC2 has been released. Perhaps that will have your bug fix.

Update to the latest flash version if you don't already have it, and i think the problem is directly related to it being the portable apps version.

Nope. I'm just seeing the throbber spinning for ever and there isn't even an outline for the video. All I see is the page, a blank white spot where the video is supposed to go and the comments.

    Update.

After about 75 years the page has loaded, I see the outline for the video now, and now the video loading icon is rotating.

Running XP and FF 3 RC2 and youtube is working fine here.

Do other flash type video sites work or do they all give you problems? How about this site? http://vids.myspace.com/

Yea it loads instantly. I'm starting to think my ISP is throttling Youtube connections, think that's possible?

any other time i would have said you were crazy. BUT, i have seen many post like yours about youtube on different forums over the last few months. i dont know what is going on, but i suspect its a youtube issue over a ISP issue.

Oh, I know they were changing to a new player and that may have been causing issues but that looks finalized to me now. I just asked someone I know and they say that it takes long to load for them too. I have no idea what it is but it may indeed be a youtube issue because the video loads fast once it gets going.

I wonder if you setup a static IP and opened a port like you would for torrents. My thinking is that maybe your firewall is blocking youtube. Are you behind a wireless router?

Yes I am, my IP address in the router changes between 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.3 depending on if i log on before my sister. I forwarded a port with that address but I don't know how to get it to stay as .2 so I just decided to leave it and change it whenever I bust out utorrent. But this never was an issue before, and the thing is that there are so many variables which could be the cause of the problem because, my internet is giving issues at random, I upgraded to RC1, I installed SP3 and Youtube began changing to the new player. And all this occurred at the same time. So maybe it's not the firewall.

TBH, I think it's an ISP issue. I get the same thing usually around high-traffic times. Then I heard about my ISP's new throttling change (*cough* Comcast). So I'm sure there has to be a connection one way or another.

    I'll try that thanks
Part of me is thinking this as well considering someone else told me they have the same problem.

It happens on all youtube videos even the standard definition ones

I'm running FF3 RC2 and I have no problems with youtube. Does youtube work properly with IE or another browser? That would be a way to check if it's Firefox or something else.

I'm betting this is related directly to the portable FF version.

Try it in IE. If it works download the install version of FF RC2 (it will install over a FF2 version if you have it). Reinstall Flash.

IE is the same thing, now I'm really thinking it's an ISP issue since others are saying they have SP3 and FF3. Those slimy bastards...and now Veoh has implemented geo filtering and says it's not available in my country anymore, what the hell...
