Audacity is excellent at what it does. You can export the file to MP3 after you're done. If you're looking for more I recommend Dexster Audio Editor.

Will Audacity allow you to record internet radio?

Yup, just put the proper settings under Audio I/O settings.

Some of the newer systems are no longer providing the wave out of the audio card as an input selection for recording. To record internet radio most recording apps would need this. There can be other ways around this, but typically all you had to do was go into the recording input selector and select wave out. Now that's missing so you have to jump through some other hoops.

Audacity is wonderful - Goldwave is also a great one. Goldwave technically costs money, but the demo is full-featured and just has an annoying popup after a certain number of actions (50 i think)

I just saw a link to a VERY cool site that may help get around the issue.

It will let you point it to a audio or video stream which it will capture and convert to one of four or five formats. I haven't played with it yet but it does LOOK promising.
