I'm in need of some good free/paid music format converter. I googled around for a few random results. Some of them hint at malware. So I wanna know from you guys if you know any popular/trusted software (that I might not be aware of).
Thanks!![]()

Just remember you lose some quality when converting. Honestly I would leave them alone unless they were in some odd format or you had to put them on a mp3 player.

Free stuff will have adware/spyware....It is really hard to find one without it..!!
Check out Imtoo's software - its cheap and clean....

The songs are in .ogg (Ogg Vorbis) format. I want to convert them to .mp3 like the rest of my collection.
Thanks Andy! I'll check those out.
I myself found this one: Switch
What do you think ? Also, I couldn't find out what really is limited in the Free version, and what's extra in the Plus version.... any idea ? -
Try SUPER. Its awesome, does audio and video with lots of options.
Oh and yeah its totally free -
I believe that winamp can do .ogg as well. and if not i seem to recall DBpoweramp being a good converter for no money.

Switch is a great program. In my experience, it is the easiest to use (extremely simple menus) but does lose some functionality after the trial period expires. You will have to install the program and check the help file to see what formats you lose after the trial period is over though.
Just a word of warning though: it adds a right click context menu for music files that will sometimes not be removed despite being unchecked in the options menu. It may been vista's fault, but I got rid of the program because that bothered me. I rarely convert music, as I normally rip music to mp3 directly, but when I do I now use SUPER. -
