    "My Computer" dissappeared!

    The icon "My Computer" seems to have vanished from my desktop. Can anyone help me get it back?

    Have you tried... Display Properties>Desktop>Customize Desktop...

    I had to uncheck My computer, ok it then go back in and check it again. Weird!

    Also, you can go to "Start" and then right click on "My Computer" and select "Show on Desktop".

    Or just drag it from your start menu to your desktop :).

    That won't be the same. It won't be the "native" icon that allows you to right click and manage the machine the same way. It'll just let you browse the machine, basically just a shortcut to explorer.

    Or better yet, customize your start menu so "my computer" shows as a menu and you never need the "my computer" icon again!
