When i first got my computer, i reformatted and reinstalled XP and everyhting worked fine. When i press the Fn key and volume/brightness/touchpad/output screen select/ wireless it all worked fine, and had an on screen adjustment window for all the options.

Since then i reformatted and was dual booting with linux and XP. Most of the functions never working in Ubuntu Linux though. Either had no function, or brought nothing on the screen so i could see what it was doing.

Now i have formatted again, and scrapped linux. I only have XP now. but... only some of the Fn Keys works, but i dont get the little popup window when i change anyting. Adjusting brightness and monitor switching works. But changing volume or disabling touchpad doesnt work.

I have all the same drivers installed off the driver cd that came with my computer.

Could ubuntu have messed something up? I thought this was all jsut software related... so i dont get it? Bios maybe?

Oh yeah, I have XP Pro, and my computer is Haier W36 (like anyone even knows what it is... but it all worked before)

    Any help appreciated! thanks!
