5 day old Laptop with Vista Business 32. My first machine with Vista. I'm an XP Pro expert user and even done PC repair on the side for extra $$.

    Bug#1:
Classic Start Menu forces sort by name and no option to sort the way I want (like XP can).

    Bug#2:
Desktop icons get re-arranged and re-aligned after rebooting. I have to use a third part app (Iconoid) to set them back where I put them.

    Bug#3:
Open My Computer and sometimes the View has changed from Large Icons to Tile and Group by None has changed to Group by Type. Yes, I have already toggled Tools > Folder Options > View > Remember each folders view settings. And Apply to Folders... etc.

I do run AdAware AE Free and AVG Free v8. As I metioned before, I am an advanced user and any suggestions, regedits, etc will be considered, EXCEPT "time to do a clean install".

    Bug #1 - I don't know about it, I don't use Classic Start Menu.

Bug #2 - Right click on your desktop, click on View, and then see if Auto Arrange is selected. If it is, uncheck it. Although I don't think it would be, because if it were, you wouldn't be able to move the icons even before the reboot, but it doesn't hurt to see. Try sorting through the search results here, many users have the same problem, and you might find a solution which works for you.

Bug #3 - It's a known bug. I've experienced it too sometimes, and I hope SP2 fixes it.
