Does vista ultimate take more ram to run than the vista home premium edition? I recently upgraded my toshiba laptop from home to ultimate, and I noticed my fan is constantly on no matter how many programs I have running in the background. The fan would only come on occasionally before I had the upgrade. I'd like to know if changing to Ultimate is the reason for why my laptop's fan is always on.
I have a Toshiba Portege M800. Here are its full specs as per the best buy website:

I installed Speedfan and Everest, and the stated temperatures of the CPU is 35 degrees Celsius, and the hard disk drive (I think?) is 37 degrees Celsius. Surely this is hardly hot enough for the fan to be on near constantly.
What can I do to turn the fan off?

Vista Ultimate by default does not use any more resources than home premium. Hovever, if you are running DreamScene, your gpu and cpu will be utilized to play that video, causing your fans to spin up. Outside that, there really is nothing different.
Your link wouldn't work for me, but more than likely, you can use RMClock to drop the voltages of your CPU. If you have a dedicated nVidia card, you can also drop the idle voltages of your GPU to decrease heat output and power usage.
My laptop fan is constantly on... due to Vista Ultimate?
