NBR is kinda going nuts in my IE 7 Browser, dunno what the problem actually is, But I have done a registry defrag and cleanup, hdd defrag, error checking, restored to the previous day, repaired and have reset my router....
But whichever page NBR page I open in IE 7, it seems to lag in time and I have to refresh it 2-3 times to get to the present..![]()

I guess the pics will explain more and all have been captured in the last 5 minutes....just check for the various posts and their timings, on NBR they lag behind by about 2-3 hours, whereas in Firefox they are kind of from the present..![]()

I was trying Network Magic and that was causing the lag in my FF3, I completely remove it and now it works normally.

Mine was actually doing the same thing... I posted a thread about in in the networking section. I never found a solution for it and I had to RMA my laptop today (for a different reason) so I won't be able find one until later. I know exactly what you're talking about. I'd use Mozilla... it's better anyway
EDIT: Removing the windows firewall AND bringing the IE security slider down to the lowest setting available (medium) improved the performance a bit... but the resulting security notifications were so annoying that it wasn't even worth it. I'd just use Mozilla. -
Yes, there is a limit of rep per 24h

I dont remember if I ever installed Network Magic, but I did run WinSockFix to fix that ping thing last night....
But IE 7 was ok yesterday....
It has started to cause problem this afternoon..!!
-
My experience was that even if you remove the applications from the start up menu there are still related services running, so you have to kill those too.
-
Yeah, I guess I ll move onto FF 3 if this thing doesnt gets fixed..!! I tend to keep only one browser installed on my laptop, since it has aged quite alot and even the 2 gig ram doesnt seem to cope up with both browsers open simultaneously....
yeah I am aware of that (the limit is 5 I guess..?!) but I honestly dont remember whether I even repped 5 guys yesterday..

This is not the problem with IE7. NBR server is damn slow these days. There are lots of server timeouts.
-
Wireless, any idea what service name that network magic program had..??
-
All the Pure Network stuff....
-
yeah, I agree it does tend to get quite slow at times, but right now I am still facing this problem and the site seems to be working fine....!!
and the pages just open instantaneously, and then have to be refreshed to be brought to the present..
Its like slapping sense into it..

NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
Net Logon
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Network Provisioning Service
These are the pure network services I got from msconfig.... -
ff3= fire fox is your friend.
-
Nope, they are called "Pure Network something", if they don't show then you don't have them.
-
Good egg. Why do people use IE? I'll never understand...
-
well the main reason I switched from FF to IE was because I do alot of ebaying, and during auction-ends, the refresh switch didnt used to work in FF (I had to reload the whole page) but worked well in IE....and I like the Calibri font in IE as well....thats mainly it..!!
IE 7 never caused me a problem earlier except today..!! will do a repair on my XP and see if that settles things..!! -
nbr has been weird for me all day in ff also..
-
Shucks...my refresh button works, and I'm sure you can tweak the fonts in FF. Your call, but I'd go with FF any day for security.

I thought NBR acted weird all the time! No matter what you do! LOL There are times I want to look at OT and I use 3 different browsers to try to get myself there, and none of them work.
NBR behaving weird on IE 7..?!?!
