Anyone else getting problems with NHC on Vista SP1?

I'm always stuck on "Battery Optimized" mode and trying to switch to "Dynamic Switching" will result in "Unable to change CPU speed" error. :(

I'm using Notebook Hardware Control 2.0 pre release 06...

    Hi.

NHC does not work in Vista.

Anyway Vista has built in power mangment of it`s own.

I tried NHC myself as i wanted to undervolt my processor but it does not work.

    regards

    John.

Serious? Doesn't work on Vista? Before I upgraded to SP1 I thought NHC was working on my com... Dynamic switching was useful as it scaled my CPU usage according to load.

And it allowed me to monitor the CPU and HDD temps as well.

What software do you use to monitor CPU and HDD temps?

I think it can run on Vista, but still needs more compability testing.

Vista's inbuilt is more than enough. If u have AMD chip then u can Download AMDCLock to monitor the processor clock rates.

I believe there are also compatibility issues with dynamic switching and santa rosa processors.

But ever since the install of SP1 on my machine, i scrapped NHC due to the OP's issue. have just been using vista's power management. Lets see how good it is.

Yeah like n0elia said use RMclock. It does everything NHC can do.

There is also HWMonitor .. HardWare Monitor..

It lets you display all system info. + realtime Clock Rates + other NHC like features.

    Google it

NHC isnt fully compatible and not much support for Vista systems

I suggest using RMclock. What are you trying to achieve with NHC?

If you go to Advanced Settings in Power Options ...u can actually set the Processor Rate.

    All on Vista by default.

Can i use RMClock to control the rpm fan?
That's the only feature i'm only interested to reduce the fan noise...

you wont be able to alter the fan speed on most notebooks. The fan algorithm is in the BIOS
