This is what I love about NOD32, even though it's just an AV, but it blocks harmful connection attempts that I never felt the need to install a separate AV other than the built in Windows Firewall! Like when I try to install Shark 007 Codecs, the moment I launch the setup NOD32 blocks a few connection attempts to the malware sites the developer has bundled into it.

Sounds like a poor AV program from my read. Windows Firewall isn't a AV let's get that straight. MSE or Defenders are AV. I think this is more a NOD32 problem or poorly written software. I use MSE and Windows Firewall and have no problems with FF opening pages or going where I need to go.

I never said the Windows Firewall was an AV. Where did you come up with this assumption? And NOD32 has the best protection and 0 false positives for years......

Windows Defender is not an AV, it is an AV wanna-be. I'd rather run naked with no protection than to use Windows Defender
