Where do I get an up to date driver for the 8800M GTS for my Gateway P-6831 FX running Vista 32-bit?
I downloaded the driver from here http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18548 and, when I ran it, it said that there were no drivers that applied to my system.

Just curious: What's wrong with your current driver? A buddy of mine has this gaming laptop, and he had a hard time finding a stable driver. When he found one, he stuck with it. I'm just saying, if your current driver works OK, stick with it.

The site is correct, just make sure you get the modded inf also and overwrite that in the folder where you extract the driver.
It will work afterwards. -
next to the 'download driver' link is the 'modded driver' link
u have to download both & follow the instructions given on the site itself. -
Ok got it. I didn't understand at first that I had to copy the modified .inf into the extracted driver folder. It works now.
To Icewalker: Using the driver from Gateway, Crysis would crash after about 30 seconds into the game. Consistently, every single time. After installing this new driver, I was playing Crysis for hours. So it fixed that problem. -

Check this link to get the drivers with WHQL and no modded inf, just download them directly from the Microsoft website the support for these drivers is great.
