Hi All,
I have Dell laptop Latitude C810, I have had this computer for about 2 months.
I don't know if I have anything to worry about but, I have recently noticed when you first turn on the computer and the Dell splash screen comes up, right above the DELL name there is a name "Andrew Munchmore".
I can't say I have noticed this before, but do I have a virius or something or is this normal?
I use a Dell computer at work and does not have anything like this!
Can someone give me feedback on this?
Thanks to all who reply.....

That's odd. Are you sure it isn't "Andrew Muchmore" (no "n" in Muchmore)? I Googled this name and found this website:
http://www.andrewmuchmore.com/
I have no idea what it is...
Matt
Edit: It seems as if he's a dj... check out this article on him:

Yes, you are correct, it's "Andrew Muchmore".
Yes, it is odd -
i think that can be cleared with the dell asset utility

I don't know what type of hacker would put a dj's name on the Dell splash screen, but it is more logical than Dell having an association with this dude. This is truly weird. Anyone other Dell users have this?

I should have told you all in the beginning, this is not a new computer, picked it off ebay. I have noticed nothing abnormal about the operation, and virius scan does not show anything funny.
Yes, this is very odd.
Thanks -
Maybe the previous owner liked this guy and knew how to edit this splash screen (since it should be just an image on the hard drive). Which makes me think that you should be about to erase this with a image editor or even replace it with another image. I believe this is how programs change the boot screen as well... I just don't know where the file is...

Yes, there should be a way to remedy this. Just not sure what it is. Google around, you will find something.

Sounds like a BIOS hack. There are many BIOS hacks to alter your boot screen, just be very careful using them, 1 mistake and your toast. good luck.

If so, would upgrading to a legitimate Dell BIOS fix the problem, Skyotic?

So then the former owner was Muchmore? Now that would be truly weird.
