I just upgraded to win7 ultimate after running xp for quite awhile. Everything was successful. However, after I uninstalled Encarta 07 and MS Office 2010 using Revo Uninstaller's advanced mode setting, the names of my usbs when plugged aren't seen anymore. They are just labeled as "Removable x" (x is the drive letter). I tried renaming it but didn't work too. When I inserted my usb in other computers, I could freely rename it and immediately see the change in the usb disk's name. What do u think is the problem? I really want to see my usb disk name since it's hard to identify which usb is plugged if they are gust generically labeled by their drive letters![]()

What I think is the problem? Well, it's probably something that you said you did before problems started. Perhaps it's related with Revo taking out more stuff than you intended. Not a bad idea to check their support:
Revo Uninstaller Support Center - help on uninstalling problems - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
Use system restore, return to previous point where those programs were still installed. If usb-drive works then, use the programs own uninstaller in the control panel. If drives works after uninstallations, be happy -

I didn't do any system restore or uninstallations. I just used CC Cleaner and all my usb disk names were detected and I could freely rename them except for my external HD. In Disk Management, I could see the my external HD's name; however, in my computer (windows explorer), it just says its drive letter. I tried renaming it but no apparent change, still stuck with the drive letter. Nonetheless, my external HD's contents are all intact and can be read, all other usb's names could also be seen. It's just that my external HD's name can't be detected or renamed... What seems to be the problem?

But you did do an uninstallation:

But when I plug in my external HD in any computer not running Win7, the disk name can be read. I don't know what happened but before it wasn't like that. I tried my other USB thumb drives both in windows 7 OS and none win7, all their disk names can be seen. Only my external HD's (250GB) disk name can't be seen just in OS Win7...
It just identifies itself as a Local Disk...

I have had this problem with several versions of Win7 (beta, RC etc).. I just ignore it and hope they fix it. It doesn't really affect my usage of the computers but yeah it's definitely a bit annoying
