OK, so I have a laptop that contains all kind of valuable info: client info, personal info, financial info, etc.
How would I best protect this data in the event of theft or loss?
If I need some kind of encryption, What encryption program would be best? I'd like it to have minimal effect on speed, and I don't want to spend a lot of time running the encryption / decryption.
Plus, I'd like to be easy to install, and cost as little as possible.
BTW, I'm running a Dell Latitude D820 w a T7600 Core2Duo, 40 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive with 2 GB of RAM, if that makes any difference.
Thanks in advance!

i use www.gpg4win.org + TrueCrypt
so i can ecrypt also emails, files, have a hidden partition encrypted with password... -
Thanks for the info. I downloaded TrueCrypt and am testing it on a USB drive right now. It works great!
One question I have, tho, I have lot of clients loaded in my Outlook contacts. Does anybody know how I can put the client database into the TrueCrypt volume without reinstalling? Can I just tell Outlook to put the data in another place?
Thanks again. You guys are awesome!
