This is for my PC, and myabe for my future laptop. Some DVD burners come with software with to burn DVD's, and most of the time its NERO. I just bought a DVD burner and I havent tried it but I am pretty sure NERO cant get passed the copy protection DVD's have. Are there any free programs out there like CloneDVD?

    Thanks

I use NTI DVD Maker 7 to burn DVDs - basic but works very well, I have not had any issues. Nero 6 or 7 are excellent as well.

I dont know about what myrancid says, is he/she for real, or a spammer? Anyway, hey chaz this NTI, free right, and special place for a download, or just from download.com? This by-passes the copy protection on DVD's right? Nero 6 and 7? You sure, I though all versions of nero did not by-pass the copy protection.

NTI bypasses it about half the time...when I backup my DVD's, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Actually, if you could get your hands on NTI 6, that works better for copying.

CloneDVD is your best bet - also CloneCD for cd's.

    Chaz

When I bought my first Sony drive, it came on CD - ask a friend if they have a sony computer or cd drive if they have a copy. Because, the only other way I can think of to get it would be illegal....and that's not something I can tell you how to do!

Yes - NTI can do that. There is a "VCD" option and Super Video CD option.

NTI has another nice option, where you can burn a Video_TS DVD - aka if you ripped a DVD, it's easy to burn it right back. ;)
