    Need Driver help :S

    Hey, whats up everyone :D

    Well,
    I just installed XP on My Laptop cause Vista has gotten mi PC quite slow now. But the problem is that on the Sony Page, they dont give windows XP drivers... :mad: and i did some googling and only found for my wireless card and some other little things....
    but i cant live without my music LOL

    So, i hope one of you guys have an idea where i can found the drivers, especially the Audio Driver

    My computer is:

    VGN-FE865E

    Go to Device Manager and see if it knows what sound chip you have. Then try Google and/or the manufacturer's website to see if there's a driver available for it. You could also try asking in the Sony forum if you haven't already.

    An audio driver can be a little hard to find, depending on the manufacturer (Sigmatel for example).

    List the make and model so we can help search for a compatible driver for you.

    the direct download dosent work, so i tried the External Mirror... that one is for Gateway FTP users only hmmm

    well, this is quite funny
    i run the .exe .... everthing goes well. Then it "installs", and i Restart.

    But when im in my user, the install.exe comes up again and this time with an error?¿?¿? thats strange

    extract the files to a folder.

    Find the HDAQFE folder, then find the xpsp2/us folder and run kb888111xpsp2.exe

    During the installation of this, you should get the add new hardware wizard for your sound card. Browse ro the WDM folder.

    I think that should take care of it.

    at what point are you getting stuck?
    You don't "need" to run the setup program. The first thing I mentioned is a fix for HD Audio for XP, the second part is the actual driver installation.
