    hi
    im desperate right now....
i just moved to a new house with wireless internet. at the beginning it worked but immediately after, it stopped working. i was able to configure the router directly with the company and then it worked. but the computer was getting stucked.
    i was forced to format....
ok computer formated with (windows XP), working nice, internet working, i installed all drivers for the XP in the XPS1330, and still working good. at some point i restart the pc and no wireless found. only after 20 min it founds it, and then it begins again to get stuck. CPU almost to 100 with just firefox and winamp open. not possible to play even a movie because it gets stuck as well!!

i-ve benn using windows xp on the computer for at least 10 months now, and it worked. i dont understand is the wireless connection in the new house got anything to do with it? right now its working good, cpu its 0-2-20-3, changing constantly but normal, but at some point the browser gets stuck, the page doesnt loads, and the cpu begins to get stuck as well....

please if anyone has any suggestions please tell me!!! im open to ideas, but if i cannot solve this i will have to instal Vista and that's that

    thxs!!

Well that's some weird computer activity there.

    You could try doing a

    *Windows Update

    *Scan the computer for viruses

*Start--> Run and type msconfig and hit enter. Under the Startup tab uncheck anything that looks unfamiliar or suspicious. Under the Services tab put in the check at the bottom to hide all Microsoft Services and then uncheck anything you don't recognize.

*Start; right click on My Computer and select Manage; expand Event Viewer and browse the Application and System logs for errors in Red.

*Press (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) Under the Processes tab click on the CPU button twice to sort the processes by the Highest CPU usage to see which process actually carries it up to the 90s. You could also browse through those processes to look for anything suspicious. (It's ok if you don't know what might be suspicious looking) :p You could type the .exe process name in google search to find out exactly what it's about.

*System Restore? Start--> All Programs--> Accessories--> System Tools--> System Restore. Restore to a point where it was working normally.

That's all I can think of for now...and ps, I don't think going to .Vista would make life any easier for you, but that's just my opinion!

When the CPU usage reaches 100% check what process eats up the CPU.
