    I bought an old IBM T23 and it came with no OS. How to i put an operating system on..when i put my windows os media edition cd in it just goes to a black screen and says some stuff then says operating system not found...what should I do? How do I install my operating system

    Your using an upgrade disk you need the retail disc

    Either that or it doesn't know that it needs to boot from CD. In which case you need to get into the BIOS and tell it to boot from CD.

    You need to go into the BIOS and change the boot order. The cdrom must come before the hard drive. That way, when you boot up, it will ask you if u want to go into the Windows configuration or just boot.

    I put the cd rom first and it still came up saying some non sense then stating Operating System not found....what should I do now?

    Then your CD is not a bootable one, thus your computer goes to the HD for the operating system, and it's not finding it.

    That doesn't tell us a thing. Can you be more specific as to EXACTLY what it says? Armed with that info someone might be able to help you.
