I really do not like how vista detects and handles wireless networks. So i would like to find another program to use. If you can provide a link that would be great. Thanks.

Just curious, but what don't you like about the Windows wireless utility?

NetStumbler doesn't allow you to connect to networks.

What wireless card do you have? It's best to use the software provided by the wireless card maker.

If your card is Intel, Intel ProSet Wireless software is excellent.

Well iam using the Intel N card as stated in my sig. The thing with the windows one is that it is very unresponsive to my clicks and is rather slow in recognizing the networks. I am using Vista Ultimate and it seems that whenever I click on connect to a network it takes forever to load the windows. But when i use the home premium one its pretty quick. so i think its the ultimate version that looks kinda messed up. So yeah i am trying to find a better program to use to connect to networks.

I think that the other wireless utilities might take more time to connect to a network than what windows takes. The intel proset wireless software didn't work for me. Other utilities may run additional processes and utilize unneccessary RAM. It's better to stay with the built in windows tool.

If you right click on the wifi icon in the systray it should give you the option of using Intel. (Works this way in XP)

SO you have two machines? One with Ultimate and the other with Home Premium, right? In the same physical location the two work differently?

This may sound insulting but please don't take it the wrong way...but is your wireless switch on or off? The antenna could also be disabled in the drivers...this happened to me and I felt like an idiot...Just something to check...
