Hi so i bought a Vista Ultimate upgrade through Microsoft the Ultimate steal deal. After i paid i was directed to a page to download my file and the boot.wim and install.wim file. Unfortunately i had to close my browser before those two files finished downloading. I went back to the digitalriverstore to view my purchase history and now i can only download Vista Ultimate upgrade on its own.

I tried installing it and a notice came up telling that i needed to install those two files. I looked in the Vista Ultimate folder and i did not see these two files.

I cannot see these files either on the Microsoft website or the digitalriver website.

    Thanks

You will probably need to contact Digitalriver about this first.

    Is it 32bit or 64bit?

It is 32 bit. I tried installing Vista Ultimate but it is not even working. I let it go through setup and then after about the third stage my computer restarts and a notice comes up telling me to check the Microsoft site for compatibility.

I think i better get my money back from Digital river. I was upgraded to Vista Ultimate (I was sent a Vista U DVD due to long delays with my laptop getting shipped) from Prem when i had a Dell and i never had any problems upgrading.

Maybe this Vista Business is causing the problem or Sony made it difficult for me to upgrade or something else is happening.

I will contact digitalriver and see what they say.

Well i finally managed to install Vista U today but what a bit of a drama it has been. I even reinstalled my OS earlier today because i thought that something in the settings might have been causing these problems for me.

Anyway they replied to my email eventually and they sent me links to the two missing files that i needed. Both of those files were a different size to the files on another Vista U DVD i own.

The install.wim file took a long time to download, it is a big file at 2.59GB.

Anyway it is done now and i can now use all the media stuff that Vista Premium and Ultimate offer.

I too need the installation files for Vista Ultimate upgrade.

How did you contact Digital River? I have made several attempts and have not heard from them.

    Thanks
