Okay this should be the easiest thing in the world to do right? Well not for me. I also have a desktop which has the exact same email account on it as my laptop. When I try to set it up on my laptop it works fine. I can send emails but I can't recieve any on my laptop. Then I get asked for my password and it keeps asking me even when I tell it the correct password. I don't want to recieve emails on the desktop anymore so I had it stop sending emails there but it still doesn't work
. I really don't know what to do.
Thanks,
Tim

What is your email client (yahoo, gmail, hotmail)? each of them usually have different savings for sending/receiving.
Also in Outlook, check your email account settings (tools-->email accounts-->view/change-->select account and change). On the left side under "User Information" make sure that you have your complete email address. I had the exact same thing that you described happen to me because I forgot to put the @yahoo.com part.
If you don't want the email account on your desktop, you can delete it. -
Okay thanks I got it working. I just had the wrong password
