Okay, to start out I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and I have about 9 different "file" files located on my C:\ directory. I hate having them there but they look important. When I try to delete two of them I get a prompt asking me if I'm sure I want to delete them ( Which usually doesn't ask )...
I'm stumped and want them gone I have OCD and every time I look I get kinda mad...
Here are the names of the "file" files:

Text document files:
RHDSetup.txt
setup.txt
( I believe the RHDSetup.txt has to do with Realtek HD Audio, but I'm just not sure if I can delete them with no harm to my laptop.)
Not sure if this would be the right place to ask but I just Google'd a laptop forum and this popped up so I registered to ask.
Any help is much appreciated!![]()

just a quick suggestion, if they arn't hidden files just hide them
-
-
What are the sizes of the folders and the contents?
I think I've deleted a few in the past, but am not sure anymore.
Open up the RHDsetup.txt and read it. Most likely some kind of log file from an update/install or somethn. -
If you have an imaging program create a full system backup first, then delete them.
-
the RHDSetup.text reads:

Oh, those are FILES. I misread and thought they were folders.
Yeah, I'm sure that it's ok to delete them. Though I cannot fully guarantee my statement, because I don't know what they are. I do know that Open Office tosses a bunch of files into the root of whatever disc it's installed to that I had to manually delete.
The reason why you're getting a permission to delete message (as opposed to a delete confirmation) is because it's in the root and UAC is protecting any action that's being taken there.
Make a folder, move the files there, wait a month, then delete it. Sound safe enough? -
**This as been going on before I moved the files**
Now.....
I have a problem with my explorer.exe ( inside of task managers "Processes" tab, but that may be in another thread if it gets out of hand... Thanks for the help. Keep a look out for me if I do start having problems

( I do have Kaspersky anti-virus and have it set to run a full scan every other day, and nothing has come up. )
SOOOO.. My question is... Is there any way on getting my explorer.exe to stop rising in usage so much??
I leave my laptop on almost 24/7 and I do not want to wake up one morning and find my RAM maxed out and my computer gets damaged.
-thanks
