    Hey folks,

Just came around this forum while searching for things to extend my battery up time ...

I will try to explain my situation in short ...

I just bought a HP dv4t series laptop with LED Screen and extended battery to save on power on my T9400 2.53 Ghz processor ... But I think the battery output still is below what I expected...

I need my laptop for both power use (usually plugged in) and word processing(usually on battery)

Is thr some good software for VISTA 64 BIT that can switch off excess utilities , Areo and reduce processor speed (and more battery saving things) when it is on battery ... , I cant find stuff for VISTA64bit ...

    I read about
    NHC,
    Clockgen
    RM Clock ...

I will need a stable release of the program for use on VISTA64

It will be a great help if you guys can suggest some software which will do these jobs .... Thanks ...

*To Admin* since I am new here, I am not sure if it is the correct sub forum to ask this .... please let me know if you are moving it to other forum ...

    Thanks ,
    Rohit

thanks ... that actually did help a lot ... just saw those advance power profile ...
but things like Areo and reducing graphics card performance and many such things can be done to improve battery ....
I need the laptop for net (wi fi) and word processing in college ..... and with this requirement, it should last me for 5-7 hours...
    just trying for that... :)

    thanks still
