Because of a stupid tech person who partitioned my 100 GB hard drive so the C drive is only 27 GB large, I need to uninstall programs I don't need.
The laptop has other problems the tech person left behind and it is going into HP but not for a while.
Moving files to another partition doesn't help enough -- programs have to go.
But I don't know which ones I need. Even reading about them online doesn't help me because I am not sophisticated enough to tell if they are being used by programs I do use and need.
Do I need all the updates -- or do later updates include earlier ones? especially for security reasons?
I have Rev uninstaller and CCleaner to help uninstall stuff but I need advice as to what I can get rid of.
So I am going to reproduce screen shots of "Add/Remove" programs and hope people can give me feedback.

That would be the best way for us to help you. Give us an idea of what programs and applications you have installed.
Also, give us an idea of which programs and apps you use the most, that way we don't suggest getting rid of the important ones. -
I got called away for something. I will have to do this later or tomorrow.

What OS? With XP there are a bunch of folders left behind for each update applied to the OS. These can be deleted without issue. The only reason they exist is to allow you to uninstall an update, and who ever does that? If you go to the Windows directory and make sure all hidden files are shown, you will see a bunch of folders with blue names starting with $NtUnistal...
If you have never cleared these you MIGHT regain a lot of space.
Also it is possible to readjust the partition sizes without losing any data. But it requires a third party tool like gparted. (Available as a ISO to create a bootable file.) I would HIGHLY recommend, no INSIST, you have a complete backup of the C: and D: partitions BEFORE you attempt to use gparted. But it would let you shrink D:, slide D: to the end of the drive (thereby creating a gap between C: and D: ) and then extend C: (into said gap).
Not a task for the faint of heart, but previous discussions with you prove that description doesn't fit you. ...big ol' grin...
But again BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP before you start.

Why don't you enlarge the C partition?Use this

It's so easy...After you do it you won't let the stupid tech person near your notebook again. -
.... but STILL do a COMPLETE backup before doing this.
Need to uninstall unneeded software -- but what?
