I have bought hP dv7 4294nr 64 bit laptop .Windows 7 was installed on it with recovery.I tried to install ubuntu and now I am unable to boot windows. Even if I try to install Windows7 it is not showing the partitions. It would be great if someone can provide me the recovery disk contents for this model.

You can order a recovery disc set from HP by going here:
https://warp2.external.hp.com/driver/dr_country_select.asp?Product=639770-001&lang=en&cc=us -
You can also download a legal copy of W7, use your OEM key, and just install the OS fresh without all the HP crapware.

Thanks justin/greg for your quick reply...
I was trying to install a copy of Win7 OS,but was having some problem. After booting from win7 cd, I selected the custom version of install ,am unable to see any partitions listed. It says load drivers. What drivers should I load here and where can i find those drivers.Your help would be appreciated. -
You can load the Intel Rapid Storage Technology F6 diskette drivers, which you can download at the Intel Download Center. The latest version (10.6.0.1002) is available below:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20181
You can alternatively use the direct download links listed in the NBR driver thread, under Intel Rapid Storage Technology (SATA AHCI) INF Install:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...xxx-dv7-5xxx-dv7-6xxx-envy-17-2xxx-intel.html
Once you have downloaded the appropriate package, unzip the contents to a USB flash drive. You can then load the drivers from the flash drive during Windows installation.
