    Anyone tried it yet?

It became available for download just recently. so I got the demo to try it out.

I am not impressed. It now comes all in one bundle (nero 6 was 3 bundles), so after deselecting all the other usless stuff (at least for me), I only installed burning rom and express.

It seems that it has become a much heavier software ... slugish
and it installs something called Nero scout, which I have yet to understand the purpose of, I disabled it (cannot choose to install it or not) but it still appears to be loaded. It seems to just collect shortcuts and add them in a virtual drive in "my computer". I don't get the purpose of this, and why the hell I am forced to waste resources on it!

there should be an open source free burning software that is better than this :D
I guess I'll stick with nero 6 for now, after all it does all that I need.

    What do you guys think?

I tried it too. Worked fine. I don't think it is revolutionary. It did not seem any slower to me. I noticed the scout thing too. I like CDBurnerXP for freeware. It does the basic stuff well. There are a couple things it doesn't do as well like DVD-Video or converting .Mp3s on the fly. It is slow but works. For most people it will be fine.

It's hard not to knowtice the scout thing... I think it keeps tabs of your media files for you (not usefull at all from nero...). I also don't like the other junk they think you need... If I'm going to watch streamed tv or a video on my lappy, I think I'll use something other than nero...

Doesn't sound impressive from what you guys are saying. Think it is worthwhile for me to upgrade from Nero 6? I have an OEM copy.

I am going to stick with nero 6. I just need a basic burner, I don't need all of those video editing tools and extra stuff (Been using nero for over 5 years and I have never used anything other than the basic burner and express, so I am not going to need anything new now!).

I feel like trying roxio, I used to use it before I switched to nero some 5 years ago. I feel like having a look at how it has become (I am not expecting something good ;))

The only thing that I do that I need Nero for is the DVD-Video thing.
