    hey...
i use nero for all cd/dvd burning purposes and i quite like it..however, using nero vision to burn dvds, when i add a video (mpg or avi) to encode and burn, the whole operation becomes so SLOW..its almost like working the same software on my 3 year old desktop. im running the laptop in my signature, and i believe there should be no problem at all..why is this? i minimize it and it takes like 20-30 seconds to maximize again..i click..and it takes like 15 seconds to respond...please help!

PS: is there another really good alternative? i chose nero coz its supposed to be like one of the best suites

Reencoding movies, especially to a DVD takes up all of your cpu. If you want to do other things while your doing this the only thing I can think of is going to your task manager and setting the NERO process to "low priority". I wouldn't recommend it though as you may come out with a corrupt vob files. In general encoding dvds is not something you'd want a laptop cpu to handle, it takes even the best desktop cpus a good amount of time.

avi2dvd works well, but it doesnt get the aspect ratio right when i use a wide screen video to convert to my 4:3 tv..nero does that well. i think i'll stick to nero, as (weirdly) my computer hangs only on some movies, not all :S thanks for the help
