Everyday at lunch I watch Netflix online here at my desk. Recently my company has rolled out Win 7 upgrades (from xp) which has caused havoc on my schedule! I cannot for the life of me get Netflix to work anymore. I'll continually get Silverlight has crashed error. I'm running Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1. I can't use any other browser here at work. I've updated Silverlight to the latest x64 version (5 i think). I've uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted and booted. Seems to be a common problem, but I can't find any resolutions.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Since the company has rolled it out you probably need to go to your network/hardware Admin. There is a possibilty they have done something that is causing the issue. This could be something that had to be done to keep compatability for software used etc................................

I would, but I don't think I'll get any support trying to stream movies on my work computer. Not of my business applications require Silverlight. :/

Here is the problem they blocked your Netflix streaming movies. Looks like the upgrade to windows 7 gives them better IT and Admin control as to what site you visit and stream. I think your movie days at the office is probably over........

I thought if that, but I can access the site. The app just crashes when the movie is loading. Generally at 2-4%. When it crashes, it freezes up the entire browser.

Sometimes it works though. Today it worked after 2 tries. After it starts working I can continue to watch episode after episode.

I didn't shut my browser down. We will see what happens tomorrow.

They will catch on when they notice lots of lag and high bandwidth usage from a particular IP yours mainly and they will basically limit your bandwidth or just tell it to slow down your connection to cause the silverlight to fail or not properly load. But a word of warning your using company time and money and they can and will use the company policy against you of which you won't be on the winning side of this debate. They own the network and bandwidth your using so as they can do as they please with it.....

I'm using their bandwidth yes. Time and money no, as this happens over lunch.
If they have a problem with it, they'll have a lot if unhappy employees. My entire department streams Netflix over lunch.

And those are the groups that cause the rest of us griefs. Lunch time or not they own the bandwidth you use 24/7. Your paid to use it to make them money. Just remember lunch or not they own it and anything you do or watch or stream or sites you log into they can see it and monitor it whether you want them to or not. And if they feel the need they can just block the netflix site all together and say due to employees abuse of the internet usage policy certain sites will no longer be available to access.

So I'm guessing you don't have an answer to my problem.

Closed per OP's request. Also remember, that personal attacks are out of the question on NBR, i've had to delete a few post as a result.
