Whenever attempting to run the Netflix app on windows 8 I receive an error saying that I need to install the latest graphics drivers as igdumd64.dll and igd10umd64.dll failed to load, user mode component load, encryption failure Error W8158. I've tried re installing the Clevo official 7970m and HD4000 drivers to no avail. Trying to download a HD4000 driver from the Intel website results in an error saying that the driver is not certified for this system. I also already have the windows update that was supposed to be relevant to this issue. Playback through the browser works just fine, and I've had no similar problem with any of the other apps. I also checked other drivers like sound which are all current with the clevo official Win8 drivers.

I have a P170EM with an i7 3610 and 7970m with Windows 8 Pro installed and up to date.

Any help would be great, thanks!

I have no problems with the Win8 Netflix app on both of my PCs (see sig). I'm baffled.

IDK I've tried everything I could find on it, I'm sure it probably has something to do with the 7970m everything buggy does :p, I've tried re installing the Netflix app too to no avail. The only thing I can think of is to either wait for newer drivers or roll back to older drivers to try and find a good one.

You can try a rollback, although I really don't think it's a driver conflict issue. Installation of the Netflix app shouldn't be related directly to your video drivers. Now if you came across something weird during playback as opposed to installation, then that might be a different story.

Do you have a restore point prior to all this? I'd hate to think it's OS related, but then again, it's Windows 8 we're talking about; it's still being broken in.

It is during playback. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I can open it and browse the selection and it'll start to load it and then displays the W8158 error.

Same problem, this is with a Sony Vaio E 14 US-SVE14A290X-LBOM-2 just bought a few days ago.
I updated Windows drivers (I have automatic update) etc etc ... no avail.
Went to the Netflix for the fix (error W8158):

Netflix Windows 8 App Error W8158 | Support

    Did not work either.

Yup, I've done all the recommended things and re installed drivers and the app and everything to no avail. Still no idea whats going on. I'm pretty sure its some issue with the signatures on the drives and Netflix doesn't like it. Hopefully a driver update will fix it. Until then I guess I'm stuck in the browser.

Haven't seen OP post any updates lately, but for OP and you, the_Enlightened, have you tried the more recent driver revision? 13.1 or even 13.2 beta?
