DEAR FIRENDS,
PLIZ GUIDE ME ON HOW TO INSTALL WIN XP PRO FROM THE NETWORK.. I HAVE A ACER 3000 LAPTOP, DVD ROM CRASHED, NOW HAVE TO REINTALL XP..
BOUGHT A EXTERNAL DVD DRIVE, BUT CANT INSTALL FROM THAT, NO USB BOOT OPTION ON BIOS, I DONT WANT TO UPDATE BIOS.. FOR ACER WITH AMD SEMPRON PROCESSOR HAS A GOOD HABIT OF CRASHING.. I HAVE TRIED TO COPY I386 FOLDER AND RUN INTALLATION, BUT AGAIN THE END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT DOES NOT APPEAR AND SETUP EXISTS..
THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE TO ME IS A NETWORK INSTALLATION.. PLIZ HELP.. I HAVE DOS BOOT CD, AND CAN BOOT THE LAPTOP INTO DOS.. BUT CANT GO AHEAD.. SOS..:confused2: :cry:

if your computer can't boot from USB, what makes you think it can do network?

dunno i have a bad heartace!! my laptop can boot from network for it has a network boot option..

If your laptop can boot from floppy, here's the directions on making the boot floppies, then you can install off the USB DVD drive.

For Network Boot Option to Work You Need to have another System up and running a network share of i386 folder or RIS running anyway this might help you
