Running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit, and something odd started occuring today on my wife's laptop: the Network window will not launch. If I click on the icon from the desktop, the window partially appears, and then I get a message a few moments later stating that Windows Explorer failed to launch. Down in the task tray, the icon there has a red X on it like I'm not connected to my local network, and a message window will pop up saying Connection Status: Unknown, Server Execution Failed. The strange thing is, I can browse the internet both thru the wired connection as well as wireless. The only thing she's done since getting it is install some messenger clients (AIM, Yahoo, MSN) and I have since removed those. Anyone run into anything similar?

Thanks; I'm going to give that a try right now. I absolutely hate chat clients

That did the trick! Thanks, Mysteree. So did you choose another chat client, like Trillian or something?
