    hi again,

    i have samsung scx-4824fn.

my router is in my room. my desktop computer is in my living room and the printer is connected via usb(it have network adpater also)

for full capability(scaning, printing through my laptop and my roommate laptop) over network the printer have to configured as network printer.

so i wonder if i can assign an ip address to the usb connection or connect it through network adapter to the desktop-pc network card that will be recognized from the printer installation setup on the notebook(in the setup i have the choose from 3 option: 1.local printer 2.network printer 3.manually)

i want to be able to choose option 2... i know that the "main pc" have to be on while i want to use the printer.
it is like the printer will be in a sub network(the main pc will assign ip for the printer)
