    Hi all

I finally got a new laptop, An Acer 8943G

I set it up last night and this morning i turned it on again and before i could type my password at the log in screen i got this error:

    " LogonUI.EXE not found

The Ordinal 2936 could not be located in the dynamic link library LIBEAY32.dll "

once i click okay i can then enter my password but then it comes up again and i have to click okay again.
Ive tried searching google with the error but cant find anything.

Im running Win 7 64 Bit

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

Yes this can be fixed very simple by inserting your Windows 7 x64 DVD inside and boot from it and when the menu to chose the keyboard layout comes you have in the left corner to repair and you select that and after you select startup repair and it will replace your .dll file which is missing :p

Profy_X - The laptop didnt come with a Win 7 DVD. I did however make restore discs when i first started it up. Also there is an Acer backup/restore feature which has a repair option.

    Should i use this?

    thanks

okay ive just tried with the backup discs i made and it only brings up the Acer backup and restore options which are:

    -restore system to factory settings
-restore operating system and retain user data
    -reinstall drivers or applications

I have done a full system restore to factory settings and reinstalled my software but i still get the same error. I have uninstalled the software and the error dissappeared. I then reinstalled the software and the error appeared again. Im confused because i have tried the software on another win 7 64 bit machine and it worked fine on there without any errors.

Should i try one of them options i mentioned above or do i need to do something else?

    thanks

what software are you installing as its conflicting with something. sounds like one of your software is maybe for 32bit operating system only and as your loading it onto 64bit it wont work.
    just a guess

Given the nature of when this occuring, it sounds like a fingerprint reader or perhaps a program launcher of some sort

I would start by going to the ACER website support section and downloading both of these and reinstalling them
