    best program to divide New HD and how many partitions recommended?

    how much volume windows vista need from hard drive?

    You can use the vista installation program to partition the drive. If you're set on using something else... you can use GParted ( http://gparted.sourceforge.net/). If Vista is your only OS, I'd do just one partition.

    No tips for installing Vista... it's pretty much just "next next next," just make sure you have the drivers you need.

    Vista will be fine with 60-80GB.

    You can make partitions, and install the OS on the 1st partition, because access/seek times and read/write rates are much better on the outer edge of the platters/disks.

    its 250 GB hard drive.......its impossible to make one partition!! ......can not recover data beside games need to refresh OS from time to time.
    what about partition magic?

    Er... then I agree with Andy. But I think it's silly when people partition a drive and make one partition for software and the other for data. Just organize your files properly.
