    New Updates Again!!!!! - 17 February 2008

A new section entitled 'Regain Valuable Disk Space' was included on 11 February.

To add to this, I have included a brief paragraph (17 Feb 08) on the benefits of shutting your pagefile down completely if you have ample RAM on your system. This is detailed in Tip #22.

I have also included a Tip on Cleaning Up System Restore and Eliminating Shadow Copies as Tip #23 if you elect not to follow Tip #15. It was briefly listed in Tip #15 already but seemed unclear to some members so I thought it best to give the tip its own para.

    Enjoy!!!!

Unless you have 4GB of RAM you shouldn't disable the page file. Some programs might run out of memory and stop working (games are likely to suffer).

You shouldn't go under the size of the installed RAM (if you have less than 4GB, just to be safe). I mean, besides some space you are not gaining anything.
PS: If I'm gonna get a desktop in the near future I'll make sure it will have at least 8GB of RAM :D.

Yeah, if you have more than 2GB, even 2GB of swap file is OK. The paging file is always the minimum of the installed RAM (by looking at the Task Manager).
