    New version of VLC posted: "This version brings a various improvements and fixes, and especially an important issue with Windows® 7 that worsened the video quality of the default output of VLC. VLC 1.0.3 has been tested to meet all of the technical requirements to be compatible with Windows® 7"

    Would it be better and safer to use VLC or just windows media player? Which is lighter on resources?

    I use both - VLC for all things video and Windows media player for audio (more options than VLC which will play audio files too).

    Finally this version solved the pixelation of full screen videos in 64-bit Windows 7 with my Nvidia 8400M GT.

    Two previous version of this player seems to have some problem. My video lags with them but the latest version seems ok!!
