Just bought a Gateway notebook that had Windows Vista Premium installed. Still learning but one annoying feature I cannot seem to correct.

If I leave the pointer over a "clickable" area for a few seconds the window opens without me double clicking. This is getting annoying as I am reading one webpage and all of a sudden another one is opening. I went into the control panel under mouse and did not find anything to disable.

Has this happened to anyone else and what is the fix?

    Thanks,

    Marc

May have found the fix. I disabled the tapping feature on the notebook and it seemed to fix the problem. I did like to tap instead of using the buttons but that's ok.

I am still curious if anyone else has/had this issue...

Perhaps the touch pad sensitivity was too high and your palm was putting enough pressure on the touch pad for it to think it is a tap... I bet that did fix it, though.
