I just got my new laptop and there arent Cd's for the OS. does that mean i need to back up my computer?

if didn't come with a OS then a Backup ( Full Image ) would be the best option .

Your notebook should come with a Recovery partition if you need to reinstall the OS.
On some notebooks you have to burn the recovery disks yourself

I downloaded that back up system that vinumsv told me to get. But it says I shouldn't back up my data while running the OS itself. how the hell do I do that? -
Nevermind I found it. Windows comes with a backup and restore system. Im currently backing up all my files. Thank all for your help.
