So I was really hoping to see some better performance on Windows but I'm not seeing ANY AT ALL. But then again just my music library is 42GB, not to mention the Video/Movie libraries, so I don't know if it's just me or not... How is it performing for you?

No performance improvements for me either.
Just a few UI upgrades.
I do like the way the new album list looks, saves a lot of wasted space.

Checked it out on our "common computer" and it's the same old slow software with a few additions that I don't need or won't use. My friends with iPods are still waiting for a significant performance boost in an update. Bets on when that will happen?

By Windows 13.
IMO, it's not worth being called a major version change. It would have been fine as 9.5. Calling it version 10 is the biggest lie in 'merica.... wait.

If there is anything I can dislike Apple for, it is their absolutely horrible job at optimizing that bloated crap called iTunes.

On OS X it's flawless. But one shouldn't have to buy a mac to get respectable performance out of such a vital piece of software. Apple makes money off this app, and for them to keep it so badly optimized really irks me. I've been using iTunes since 2001 with my 700MHz iBook G3 and rockin the original 5GB iPod, later graduating to an HP iPod. It has only gotten progressively worse on Windows, while OS X's version just gets better and better.

performance improvements aren't part of itunes 10, they added a variety of features, some of which are actually pretty good
also using itunes on osx, not exactly yearning for performance improvements from this side -

They haven't been for the previous 65 versions either. Maybe I need to go steal some unicorn blood from the Apple Black Lab.

iTunes has always been subpar on Windows as far as I can remember, and I agree it's a shame especially when they're trying to gain more market share with their media offerings. It is sad when iTunes on a MacBook running a C2D and 500GB 5400rpm drive performs just as well compared to a i5 SSD RAID0 Windows laptop.
New iTunes 10 - Is it any improvement?
