A very good day to you,

Hi, a Newbie here and I would like to ask some questions regarding Windows Security and Firewalls ...

    1) How can I block all incoming network traffic and allow all outgoing network traffic ?

    2) The reason for doing this is so that I do not want any remote connections from the internet into my PC such as from Teamviewer or Remote Administrator or from any Trojan or Malware, but I still want to be able to surf the internet, view youtube, and download files ...

    3) Is this possible ? How can I achieve this ? I have a MikroTik Router but I have been trying to do the above but without any success ...

    4) Perhaps can someone please kindly advice me what "Hardware or software" I can use to achieve the above ...

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Thank you and regards

    Dr. David Bowman.

You really can't you have to have a Router that will use it's NAT to help filter traffic and further protect your internal network from outside attacks. As for outgoing if you already infected no amount of Software/Hardware protection will work as they are compromised already and you will have to wipe clean and reinstall your system again. This is where a A/V comes into play to detect and find hidden programs and malware hiding in your system. And a good thing is look at your Control Panel/Uninstall program list and see if you can identify those programs and what they do and if not then you should research what the program is and if you didn't install it then it is suspect it came with another program and if you didn't want it remove it.

As long as you have your Windows Update to Autopdate it will further protect your system from attacks. Have a a good A/V to prevent stealth installs and also stops going to black sites and downloading questionable programs/software will further protect your system from botnets. And never click on Email attachments you don't know whom sent it or Banks emailing claiming to fix your problems. Remote admin only works if it is turned on in your system which is off by default by the O/S and if your already malware infected your not going to get rid of those program and their leftover unless you do a complete wipe and reinstall of the system to clean the system.

It's possible just get a Router and that will further protect you and also pickup a "Dummies" book on computer and internet and that will teach you more about the internet and your computer and how to protect it.

    1. Router with updated firware
    2. Make sure Windows Update is set to "Auto" download/install updates
    3. Never click on email links you have no clue what it is or Bank emails as Banks don't email you.
    4. Read up and learn about your O/S and Router settings and that will help insure your protected
    5. Also I use a PC hosts edit file to further prevent ReDirects clicks from happening or Ads popups-if you look for my user name you will find inform I posted about it but here is the link to look at:

You realize surfing the net requires incoming traffic (you can't load a page or view Netflix without that data coming in from somewhere), right?
