I just bought a new Dell 1505 laptop with tv tuner and the 2006 Microsoft streets+tips GPS device. I don't have much experience with these things so I was thinking if anybody could help me out.
1. Do I need a tv/satellite source nearby to actually use the tuner or can I just plug it innto the laptop and use it as a tv/recorder?
2. Do I need to have internet connection for the GPS to work or can I just plug in the device into the laptop and use it in the car?
thanks!

1. You do need a source, unless you already have an antenna
2. You don't need Internet connection. GPS gets signals from satellites and the maps are included in the software, so you don't have to download anything. -
Okay thanks. About question #1, I will be using it in my dorm room so there will probably be an antenna. My question is do I need to connect it to a nearby tv source to use it?
