I think MS got the message that Windows 9 needs the Start Menu put back. Windows 8.1 SP1

Geez I didn't even realize they had a service pack coming out for essentially a service pack for Windows 8 which is what W8.1 is. :p

I leave nothing to M$ to learn anything....they so far haven't admitted to learning nothing from the W8 debacle.....if I recall right early W8 version testers had a Start Menu and desktop options but when they released W8 all that was off the table and they got the scorn for it and that is when they called the users dum and stupid.....that right there tells how far W8 would drop in pretty short fashion...

If Steve Ballmer had not resigned do to internal and external pressures from within the company, if we had not been given a revised OS in Windows 8.1, if there wasn't a supposed SP1 for Windows 8.1 and if Windows 9 were not already leaked for a 2015 arrival.

.....then I would tend to agree with you. ;)

The only thing I see M$ learning so far is how to dance around the problems, not solve them. IMHO their first issue is regaining the die hard supporters of their OS and beta's and an apology could go a long way towards this end. Action though speaks louder than words so this should be followed through with that as well.

I doubt it just giving a start look alike not something like W7 Start Menu doesn't pass muster here. And even the revised 8.1 caused a whole alot of other problems in themselves for W8 users so that caused more problems then they were suppose to fix. So I don't think this was a step forward but more like one step forward and stumbling back 3 steps......
