NewsCorp agents in multiple countries have been arrested for hacking into the phones and computers of at least thousands of innocent people. Since the Murdoch family controls 100+ high-traffic domains, it is difficult for average users to know which sites could potentially place them at risk.

MurdochAlert identifies the domains that may place users at risk for Murdoch-related hacking. MurdochAlert features A bottom warning box that appears whenever you visit a Murdoch-controlled sited.

Stay away from political comments, however, telling us if it's useful would be appreciated. My feeling is it's not likely they are using these sites to track info from users computers but is helpful if one wishes to boycott the company. Does anyone know more info on this matter? Any info pointing to the fact they may have used their websites to infect computers and gain information on people?

As far as I know they haven't even been accused of hacking people through their websites but maybe they just haven't been caught yet. Interesting thought though, maybe best to avoid those sites for now.

This sounds way too much like another opportunist urban legend that needs to be researched and squashed......

Google (corporate motto: Don't be Evil unless it makes us money) is in a far better position to 'hack' peoples data at will. They are probably competent enough to cover it up properly.....

I didn't manage to read the entire block of text as it was boring as, you get the point. The customer got wrongfully banned, so what? That happens everywhere, suck it up and move on. Jeez, I know the guy held shares and has encouraged people to move on to Chrome and create a gmail account, but nobody asked that of him and that does not mean hes special and gets benefits from a customer like myself.

    Anyways,
Since I don't visit many sites and I have no interest in today's politics, I will stay away from this addon. However, thank you for the heads up about the recent online scare.

There are risks involved in cloud computing. So, the is guy claim Google deleted his account. We don't know why, he claims he doesn't know why, so all we have is this very long post, blog entry, or letter - whatever it is. We get it. He's angry. But it's not like he was even a paying customer, except for a domain name. So, I guess you can't complain if a free ride ends unexpectedly and nobody forced him to move his data into the cloud, instead of maintaining physical possession of a backup.
