I was defragmenting all my HDD. C,D,and E. Some how or some where I deleted IE, and possibley a couple of other files. I tried to load it back. No luck ! I have tried to do it four times to no avail ! What or how can I get it back? I've looked at free apps, and saw one for getting files back.
Would it be better to move my files and reinstall? Or just reinstall like I have it?
I'm thinking about moving all the files and programs to a external drive then clean HDD   .
Any Help would be appreciated !!!!!

    It's in c:\program files (x86)\internet explorer\iexplore.exe

If you're 32-bit Windows disregard the (x86) part.

What were you "defragmenting" with, superglue? Defragmenting doesn't normally delete files, particularly not system files, so you must have been doing something else in addition.

However, if you've really managed to delete it, you can either try a repair install from your installation media, or try using a different browser and/or computer to go to MS' website and download IE8 to install.

You really should have kept both questions in the same thread then, particularly since they're related.

The OP can also try TuneUp Utilities 2009 which comes with a 30 day trial and is the full program. It has a nice undelete program built in.

I used the add remove program to remove so old programs, then used clean up on it. Then defraged! That is all I done so I don't know how it happened.
I'm not a computer person at all.. I just run some programs and surf. My children do all the things on here. I will try it. But I tried to down load IE 7 back no luck! Will try 8.........
Thanks You for info...

Just visit this webpage, and follow the link for your operating system, then follow the directions to install IE8.

    Cheers...
