You know how whenever you open a program the shortcut is always show in the start menu on the left side? For some reason after I followed the guide on how to optimized windows xp in this forum those shortcuts just won't appear anymore. Everytime I click on start, the whole left side is always empty. I don't know if it was something i turned off when i followed the guide or not. Can someone be able to help me out with this?

What guide did you follow? You might want to undo those "tweaks", especially since they screwed up your start menu...
