I lost my recovery disk and my laptop HDD died. Im planning on replacing my HDD. My question is could I use my OEM Window XP CD with my Laptop's Product key?

Yes you could but you are going to need to download the drivers from the hp/compaq website

Ownership is not tied to a specific cd, just the product key....

One thing to be careful of is that some XP discs only take some cd keys. Like if you have an OEM key but a retail disc, it might not work. Same if you hhave a retail key and an OEM disc. AFAIK, there's no way to tell until you try it.
