I have a computer with the specs in the sig.

I installed Windows 98 SE with VMWare Workstation 7.0, installed the VMTools, and everything works except for it doesn't have sound or recognize a soundcard. Any help?

Do you have a Sound card added to the VM settings? is the sound card "connected" to the VM?

I don't know... In the settings it gives me an option and I clicked the Speakers and Headphones option if that is what you mean.

I mean in the actual virtual machine settings, not inside the OS that you run in VMWare.

When you open Vmware, you can configure the Virtual Machine to have USB controllers, Sound controllers, floppy disk (or not), etc.

You probably have to install drivers within the Virtual Win98

You have to configure the WM with a sound option then. When setting up a VM and configuring the "hardware" the VM uses, it's important to specify adequate specs depending on what client interface software you're using.

No, I'm pretty sure that its a configuration issue.

I did the easy install of VMWare Workstation and to install Windows 98 SE I had it as an .ISO and used the code from a Windows 98 SE (with pre-built software built in, but I don't think that matters), and it worked.
