I tried the NOD32 trial, mostly to see if it would find anything that my usual software missed, and NOD32 reported a number of locked or access denied files on my machine as well. However, NOD32 did not find anything, so I did not keep the trial.

I hear that as well, that NOD32 is perhaps the best AV available. However, it has been years since I have seen a virus in anything other than a Word document, and that was at work 3 years ago. So, yes, NOD32 is supposed to be very good, and, no, I don't feel I need it. You may, though!

I've got it, and it runs pretty damn light on the system resources. Mine shows the locked and access denied files as well, which kind of sucks because if any of those were to ever get a virus...... Well that would just screw us because microsoft can't get their **** straight.

Otherwise, outstanding program. Updates every day and doesn't use many resources to do so or to even install the files. I love it.

You mean like .rar files? Basically the scanner I believe is scanning the contents but it can't as it has a password on it.
