Just received new Dell e1505 and need some help. Has anyone had any issues with installing Norton Internet Security 2007? I am doing my 2nd PC Recovery because I get the blue screen from hell error during the final stages of installation.
I have worked with Dell. They have been great. The first time it happened they told be to do the recovery, download the most updated drivers, update windows and then contact Symantec about the issue I experienced. The Dell tech said there is a known issue that Symantec would address.
The Symantec tech was very helpful - we had a chat session. He checked things out, told me to go ahead and download and assured me that I would not have any issues....wrong...another blue screen critical error and need to recover and update.
I prefer Norton to other providers, but I'm wondering what the heck is going on. Each time I have recovered to original Dell configuration, updated drivers, updated windows, removed PC-illen internet security....and that's it - download for Norton goes smooth, but at the very end of installation - BAM!
I'm running another recovery and will update drivers and windows. I'm going to give it one more try. Anyone have any experience like this? Thanks.
Regards,
Tony

they JUST released that software...which means you are basically a beta user as far as Norton is concerned (IMHO).
you might want to get a copy of 2006. -
why would you get norton? norton sucks....they monopolize your whole system and they have a ton of bugs and annoying stuff in it, especially their internet security stuff...there are a lot of other more simple anti-virus programs...i use a program called Kaspersky and its the best, its simple yet very effective

Bitdefender works wonders, with active protection and nice quick scanning.. it also has extra goodies, and you can have it on 2 computers for 40 bucks.
