    Not the typical [This file came from another computer...] or [Always ask before opening this file] question; this is more tricky.

    First of all, I'm not asking how to get rid of this warning or unblock a file or file type. Pretty much 99.99% of all the answers on the Internet are about how to get rid of this security feature.

    What I'm looking for is how to " re-block" or " re-flag" a specific file after you pressed the [Unblock] button or unchecked the box for [Always ask before opening this file]. Once you pressed the button or unchecked the box, you will not see a button nor a warning again for that file.

    Also, this is not the same as [Always ask before opening this file type] from IE7, so you can't just reset that in Internet Options. We're talking about for a specific file, not just for a file type.

    I've tried looking through the registry, but couldn't find anything yet.

    Thanks.

    Hi kegobeer,

    I use both, but I'm trying to figure this out in XP atm. In Vista, there is an easier way?

    :)

    I've never seen any articles on how to enable this security feature on a file again. Perhaps if you move the file to another computer/operating system and then move it back again?

    Same here, I haven't seen any articles yet. I just tried to move it to a mapped network drive and moved it back, didn't work, maybe because it's a mapped drive. So far, the only way is to re-download the file from the Internet again.

    Try copy this

    Code:
    @echo [ZoneTransfer] > %1:Zone.Identifier
    @echo ZoneId=3      >> %1:Zone.Identifier

    into Notepad and save it as reblock.bat

    Now you should be able to drag a file onto reblock.bat to re-block it.
